We're Hiring a Project Manager Who Loves Keeping Great Work on the Rails

Role: Project Manager

Location: Nashville, TN (hybrid = in-studio mornings early on, flexibility as we find our rhythm)

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000, depending on experience

Studio Intro:

At Radtron Studio, we believe the built environment tells stories. The wayfinding, signage, and placemaking elements we design are a powerful part of that narrative. We're a small, design-led consultancy studio that blends creative experimentation with high-level execution. The creative vision here is strong. What we need is the person who makes sure it ships on time, on budget, with every detail accounted for and every person in the loop.

If you read that and thought "finally, a studio that knows what it needs", we invite you to keep reading.

What This Role Is

Description: this is the operational heartbeat of a studio that runs as many as six projects at once.

You will be:

  • Coordinating high-design signage and wayfinding projects from kickoff to closeout. Clients, designers, fabricators, installers, and GCs, all moving on schedule.

  • Owning client communication day to day. Proactive updates people don't have to ask for, questions answered before they become progress blockers.

  • Running the business side of project delivery. Milestone tracking, invoice triggers, budget tracking, document filing, vendor follow-up.

  • Being the studio's reliable voice, including when our creative director is heads-down in design or out of pocket. When you're here, the company answers.

  • Problem-solving in real time with support from our creative director

The honest “anti-sell”, because we'd rather you know now

This is a two-person company. Some weeks are unglamorous and may include chasing a fabricator, reconciling a punch list, filing correspondence, and nudging an unpaid invoice. The creative director thinks in systems and stories and will sometimes need you to be the person who says "ok great, and here are the three things due Friday." If that sentence made you smile rather than wince, you might be who we're looking for.

One thing worth knowing about how this studio runs. The systems here are solid but evolving. SignAgent is our project home base, our contracts are milestone-driven, and our documentation templates are reused and refined across live projects. Currently, we are strongest in concepting, systems thinking, and earning client trust. This role is open because we need a Project Manager who will be a true counterpart on cadence and closure. You won’t be asked to impose order on chaos. We’re inviting you to join a machine that's already built and running.

What You'll Own

Project Leadership

  • Develop and manage milestone schedules (and reflow them smartly as things evolve).

  • Track project budgets and flag issues early.

  • Keep projects moving forward calmly, clearly, and confidently.

Client Collaboration

  • Be a primary point of contact and set the tone for long-term partnerships.

  • Give thoughtful, proactive updates (not just reactive replies).

  • Anticipate client needs and gather the details we need to deliver proactively.

Vendor & Fabricator Coordination

  • Communicate with vendors and fabricators early and often, and keep the follow-up loop closed in both directions.

  • Share documentation that's clear, timely, and filed where we can find it quickly a year from now.

  • Keep everyone focused on the goal, not just the next step.

Studio Operations

  • Own the billing calendar = milestone hit → creative director issues invoice, payment confirmed, nothing left hanging.

  • Keep project records current as we go, decisions, correspondence, approvals, etc… never reconstructed after the fact.

  • Triage the studio inbox and protect the creative director's design and business-development time.

This Might Be You If…

  • You're a practiced project coordinator or PM (3 - 5+ years) who knows your way around commercial construction, architecture, design/build, and/or signage + wayfinding.

  • Your happy place is a portfolio of moving pieces. You'd rather run six small trains on time than one big one slowly.

  • People who've worked with you say, "nothing gets past them."

  • You get real satisfaction from closing loops. The sent update, the confirmed delivery, the filed document, the finished punch list are your domain.

  • You're comfortable owning an afternoon solo. Making / taking phone calls and telling us about it tomorrow morning.

  • You value a workplace that respects after-hours boundaries and trusts you to manage your time like a grown-up.

  • You want to work around great design every day. Job sites, specialty fabrication shops, beautiful drawings, without needing to be the designer.

Nice-to-Haves (But Not Dealbreakers)

  • Experience with architectural signage, experiential graphics, or wayfinding systems

  • Experience with 3D modeling/BIM software such as Autodesk Revit or Sketchup

  • Familiarity with SignAgent, or project management tools like Asana or Trello

  • Fluency reading design deliverables: Illustrator/InDesign outputs, DD/CD sets, shop drawings, etc…

  • Familiarity with local signage zoning and permitting law (bonus points for knowing Chapter 17.32)

  • A background in design, architecture, construction, or fabrication

What You'll Find at Radtron Studio

  • Transparent, competitive compensation

  • Highly visible, creatively ambitious projects for clients who care about craft

  • A studio that intentionally lives its values

  • A creative boss who respects your judgment and gives you room to lead

  • Room to grow as the studio grows
